Sun initiated a lawsuit on 11 August 2025 in the US District Court for the District of Delaware, alleging that Bloomberg’s revelation of his crypto assets jeopardizes his privacy and could pose risks to him and his family.

Sun states that Bloomberg reached out to him earlier this year for inclusion in its online Billionaires Index, which ranks some of the wealthiest individuals globally.

He asserts that he only consented after receiving assurances from Bloomberg that they would keep any asset disclosures, particularly regarding his crypto investments, entirely confidential and would utilize them solely to authenticate his net worth.
