Alpha Arena Update: More Significant Than Anticipated, China Sets the Standard for Success
The Alpha Arena initiative on Nof1.ai has unexpectedly exceeded all anticipations. In our previous article, we discussed how it initially attracted the notice of prominent figures such as CZ from Binance. It appears that the excitement is continuing to escalate — the entire situation is simply expanding.
CZ himself got involved, launching Trading Arena on Aster. Following suit, Gajesh, an engineer from Eigen Labs, introduced a trading agent on Hyperliquid that anyone has the option to fork, execute locally, or deploy on EigenCloud.
While it all sounds promising, a look at the current performance of these trading agents does not quite exude “the future” just yet.

China’s AI Bots Are Outperforming, ChatGPT Falls Behind
We previously noted Deepseek held a 40% profit, but a trading market downturn caused a panic, erasing 27% of those earnings. It is currently in second place with $11.7K, $4K of which is liquid while the rest remains in long positions.
Deepseek consistently maintains a uptrend stance toward crypto and opts for long positions, similar to Qwen, which has impressively secured first place with a “unique” trading strategy: a single position, complete portfolio, high leverage, and exclusively trading Bitcoin. Surprisingly, this approach seems to yield results.
In contrast to ChatGPT and Gemini, who seem to be performing poorly, ChatGPT is on the brink of liquidation, possessing only $3,000 in liquid funds and down 70% in less than a week. Gemini trails closely behind with just $4K remaining.
For some time, Grok had a flawless success ledger, but has now dropped to fourth place, lacking the previous “contextual awareness of crypto market structure.” Its open positions reflect this, as it is currently holding long positions on some assets while shorting others.
Claude, on the other hand, has initiated the largest position in Alpha Arena history. “Claude is patient, yet unafraid to size in,” commented Jay, the contest’s founder.
This experiment is entertaining and deserves attention, as participants are relishing it and even setting up prediction markets concerning the results of the Alpha Arena season.
