Oct 15, 2025

A blend of ongoing commodity and digital currency ETF investments propelled the U.S. ETF sector to an unprecedented $12.7 trillion in assets. In September 2025, the leading 10 U.S. exchange-traded products brought in an additional $803 million. The largest contribution was observed from the VXX fund, which attracted $272.99 million as investors sought refuge from escalating crypto market fluctuations. Following this, the crypto ETF inflow surged.

A report issued on 14 October 2025 by ETFGI, a firm specializing in ETF and ETP research, underscored that U.S. ETF assets increased by 22.7% from $10.35 trillion at the close of 2024 to $12.7 trillion.

In the month of September alone, ETFs garnered $152.5 billion, signifying the second highest monthly inflow recorded. For the year-to-date, inflows have totaled $951.27 billion, successfully surpassing last year’s high of $740.78 billion.

Additionally, ETFs have experienced net inflows for 41 consecutive months, reflecting robust investor interest despite escalating rates and market instability, as both institutional and retail investors continuously opt for ETFs as their preferred investment choice.
