Ethereum and Solana “Bull Train” Departing? Will Tokenization Boost Prices?

May 9, 2025

In 2025, Ethereum and Solana valuations may experience a significant uplift as the movement towards the tokenization of securities accelerates. Robinhood is keen on tokenizing shares while Hester Peirce pushes for improved legislation. The introduction of Open Bell initiates this momentum.

BTC is comfortably positioned above $100,000. After a considerable period, Ethereum has also surpassed $2,100. Not to be overlooked, Solana, considered one of the top cryptocurrencies to buy in 2025, stands above $150. The outlook for crypto asset remains strong, along with several of the leading Solana meme coins.

In 2025, ETH and Solana valuations may experience a significant uplift. Major players are driving this trend.

Despite this promising breakout, there’s a strong likelihood that SOL and Ethereum values will continue to rise in the upcoming sessions. If the previous surge influenced by meme coins that pushed SOL nearly to $300 is any indication, the forthcoming bull cycle could be spectacular.

In a communication on X, Matt Hougan, CIO of Bitwise, noted that an increasing number of securities are being onboarded and tokenized on-chain much more rapidly than anticipated. Therefore, he believes the “train is leaving the station,” a positive sign for SOL and ETH.

Robinhood’s Ambition to Tokenize Stocks

Referencing significant developments this week, Hougan highlighted that Robinhood is proactively aiming towards bringing U.S. stocks to European markets via Solana and Arbitrum, which is an Ethereum layer-2 solution.

The selection of these two networks is clear. In contrast to Ethereum, Solana and Arbitrum provide scalability, processing transactions more efficiently and at a lower cost than Ethereum.

In February, Vlad Tenev, Robinhood’s CEO, mentioned that the tokenization of securities could empower the United States and ensure its leading position in the global marketplace.

If executed successfully, this prominent exchange could funnel substantial trading volumes towards Solana, ETH, or other blockchains they embrace, elevating their prices.

Will Regulatory Changes Favor Tokenization?

At the same time, U.S. SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce is advocating for blockchain-based securities.

In a address delivered on May 8, Peirce, affectionately known as “Crypto Mom,” spoke in favor of enabling stocks to be issued on-chain and facilitating trades and settlements on public networks.

Her comments suggest a potential transformation in the regulatory environment in the United States, which would greatly benefit the industry.

In particular, both Ethereum and Solana, significant players in the self-executing contract arena, are likely to gain from this regulatory advancement, provided it occurs in a timely manner.

By embracing tokenized securities, the United States could align itself with regions like Singapore and Europe, which have already achieved clarity in the realm of tokenized securities.

Implementing policies that endorse tokenization would result in enhanced transparency and efficiency, as the process would be simplified and costs minimized, all while adhering to current regulations.

A New Era of RWA on Ethereum and Solana

Hougan also highlighted the “Open Bell” initiative by Superstate.

This platform facilitates the tokenization of shares on Ethereum and Solana, with its announcement made shortly after the introduction of “Project Open” on April 30.

Sol Strategies, a Canadian crypto asset holding company, will lead the charge in tokenizing shares through Open Bell on Solana.

Open Bell has the potential to establish itself as the primary network for tokenizing securities across these two groundbreaking blockchains. This also aligns with the vision shared by Larry Fink, CEO of BlackRock.

During an interview, Fink emphasized that Congress should create legislation to enable the tokenization of all types of securities, not limited to stocks. BlackRock’s BUIDL, which initially launched on Ethereum, has already tokenized assets worth hundreds of millions of dollars in treasuries.

Should Open Bell succeed and securities get tokenized on ETH and Solana, the associated tokens will surge.
