Night of Horror for Compensated Crypto Influencers: ZachXBT Highlights the Most Deceitful Characters on Crypto Twitter
Once more, 2D crypto asset investigator ZachXBT caused a stir in the crypto Twitter community by disclosing that over 200 influencers failed to reveal their sponsored promotions.
A spreadsheet detailing their fees alongside links to the wallets where they received payments adds further intrigue to the situation.
ZachXBT asserts that at most, only five of those 200 paid promoters have classified their posts as advertisements.

Who is ZachXBT? What’s Causing All the Drama in Crypto Twitter?
ZachXBT began his path in 2017 as a typical crypto investor, and shortly after, in 2018, he fell victim to a hack that cost him $15K in Ethereum.
This incident spurred him to investigate on Etherscan, seeking to understand what occurred. Lacking a finance or tech background, he utilized available public resources to uncover information regarding crypto fraud and hacks.
His notable first achievement was identifying the Rogue society, which created over 15,777 NFTs.
1/ It’s time we talk about the $5.5m @roguesocietynft slow rug that has been happening for 7 months thanks to the anon founder @LecheTheMilky disappearing. pic.twitter.com/xwiekfrlO5

Shortly after, he unveiled additional fraudsters related to the $70M Pixelmon debacle, who raised more money to purchase Bored Apes, along with a phishing operation that swiped $2.5M in BAYC NFTs.
However, his major advancement came in 2022 when he reported extensively on Machi Big Brother, who siphoned off more than $37M across over 20 wallets.
Later, Machi took legal action against him for defamation, but this only motivated Zach to pursue justice even more vigorously. The crypto Twitter community even raised over $1M to assist with legal fees and litigation costs against Machi.
Eventually, the lawsuit was dismissed, and ZachXBT triumphed in this David & Goliath narrative in the crypto realm.
1/ It’s unfortunate I have to make this thread but I am being sued by MachiBigBrother for an article I published in June 2022.
Today Machi filed the defamation lawsuit. The lawsuit is baseless and an attempt to chill free speech. I intend to fight back & defend free speech. pic.twitter.com/anVY6zXU5a

Shills, Spreadsheets, and No Disclaimers: ZachXBT Unveils Crypto Twitter’s Dirty Secrets
Crypto Twitter flourishes through figures who cultivate cult-like followings, yet the latest investigation reveals just how murky the waters become when hype intertwines with undisclosed payments. Once again, ZachXBT is at the center of the chaos with a spreadsheet listing over 200 influencers, detailing their promotional fees and digital wallet addresses.
NEW LEAK: Price sheet of 200+ crypto influencers and their digital wallet addresses from a project they were recently contacted by to promote.
From 160+ accounts who accepted the deal I only saw <5 accounts actually disclose the promotional posts as an advertisement. pic.twitter.com/Kph9dUvDxB

The list is categorized into levels, starting from 1, which represents the highest earners—some charging over $60k for a single post—to tier 5, which receives a paltry $50. There is concrete evidence of some transaction receipts landing directly on Solana.
ZachXBT points out that fewer than five out of those 200 influencers are openly disclosing their engagements, which tarnishes crypto’s image among new retail investors, as the sector strives to transition into a mainstream asset class.
This is a significant issue since perception plays a crucial role in driving market fluidity within the crypto space. Retail investors frequently invest in tokens influenced by their preferred KOL (Key Opinion Leader) sharing a meme, often unaware that the same KOL was compensated to promote it.
When insiders offload their investments, it’s the small investors who suffer the losses. Regulatory bodies like the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) have already issued warnings regarding this behavior: if you’ve been paid to post, it’s essential to disclose it transparently.
Our strategic partners are pushing Insense for FTC-compliant influencer whitelisting
Not only Insense, of course, but all its official partners
Why?
FTC fines brands for not disclosing partnerships.

Some are already advocating for FTC-compliant influencer whitelisting.
In conventional markets, concealing paid promotions can lead to swift enforcement actions. However, in crypto, it’s merely another day, until someone like ZachXBT exposes the truth.
