Will Jesse Pollak Be Dismissed From Base? Continuous Zora Crypto Promotions
Jesse Pollak has consistently been a rather divisive figure in the management of Base, but it seems he may have crossed a line this time.
Recently, Pollak has faced a torrent of backlash for the intense way he’s been advocating for ZORA on X. Judging by his latest updates, it seems he has a singular goal: promote ZORA at any cost.
Although ZORA entered the creator-content arena later than others, it has achieved some degree of success. Coinbase Ventures participated in the $2M seed funding and subsequently joined a $50 million venture investment, suggesting a valuation of about $600 million for ZORA. Pollak frequently emphasizes “tokenization,” yet those figures seem to indicate it’s more about profit than a noble aim to innovate the industry.
A lot of individuals believe that ZORA is being forced upon them mainly so that Coinbase and Base can recover their investment. Currently, that investment isn’t looking too favorable. At full diluted value, they are just about breaking even.
So the representative of Base is tweeting random tickers, and all the charts resemble this.
I appreciate Coinbase, but I don’t grasp why they persist with this “tokenize everything” storyline.

This Is Not Pollak’s First Rodeo
Pollak has been inundating social media with what many are dubbing an unending flow of “shitcoins.”
Random updates promoting new tokens that typically plummet to nothing shortly after. It’s odd, but it’s not the first instance he has engaged in such behavior.
Since Base’s inception, he has been actively involved in various coin communities. Chatting with traders, and even purchasing NFTs himself. This earned him favor within the community back then, but many of those decisions haven’t aged well, making the whole “future of crypto” narrative appear unstable.
What Jesse is doing with Zora — advocating for creative tokens — isn’t inherently wrong. He isn’t coercing anyone into buying. Nevertheless, it leaves a sour taste for numerous individuals. One of the tokens he promoted, named Dominos, surged to a $200K crypto market capitalization before tumbling back to zero within a day. His pitch revolves around “fans collecting for enjoyment” and “content going viral,” but for many, it simply comes across as another pump-and-dump scheme.
After viewing both the video and Jesse’s ridiculous posts, I’ve reached one conclusion:
Jesse Pollak should be let go from Base/Coinbase https://t.co/biAFGKIxaX

Key Takeaways
- Jesse Pollak’s relentless promotion of Zora is alienating the Base community and raising significant concerns about his leadership.
- His initiative for “creative tokens” appears more like hype and transient boosts rather than authentic innovation or sustainable value.
