Zerebro Creator Takes Own Life Live On Camera Before Distributed ledger Investigators Disprove It: What Is LLJEFFY Crypto
Following the apparent suicide of Jeffy Yu, the creator of the AI agent coin, ZEREBRO, a meme coin known as LLJEFFY crypto experienced a dramatic increase of over 2000% before plummeting back down.
On May 6, a video emerged on X, allegedly depicting Jeffy Yu, 22, smoking a cigarette before taking his own life. Nonetheless, on-chain data has revealed ongoing activity in wallets associated with the ZEREBRO founder, and a letter purportedly from Yu indicates he may have staged his suicide.

Intrigue Grows In The Jeffy Yu Suicide Case
The crypto asset community was rocked with grief when the San Francisco Chronicle published an obituary for Jeffy Yu online, reporting that the ZEREBRO founder had taken his life.
However, this obituary was later taken down due to insufficient evidence supporting Yu’s demise. The local coroner’s office reportedly stated that there had been no recent deaths under that surname in the region.
Obituary submissions through the San Francisco Chronicle’s online network require a fee starting at $299 and must include death verification from a funeral home, crematorium, or a death certificate.
Once the form is submitted, the obituary is uploaded automatically to Legacy.com. Due to the absence of confirmation regarding Yu’s death, the obituary was subsequently removed.
On May 6, videos began circulating on X showing Jeffy smoking a cigarette before apparently shooting himself. Skeptics quickly expressed doubts in the comments, observing the lack of gore and the blurred camera footage, which could indicate it was staged.

Posthumous Blog Entry From ZEREBRO Founder Reveals Launch Of His ‘Legacoin’: A Brief History Of LLJEFFY Crypto
In a pre-scheduled blog entry after his supposed death, Yu remarked; “If you’re reading this, it’s because my 72-hour deadman’s switch has activated so I’m not here, at least in a physical sense..This is a legacoin, my final piece of art. $LLJEFFY”
In what is believed to be a posthumous Sunday blog entry, Yu introduced the concept of “Legacoin,” referencing meme coins that are dedicated to individuals who have passed. This post was signed “LLJEFFY,” leading many to infer that the ‘LL’ signifies Long Live (Jeffy).
Data from Gecko Terminal indicates that the Solana crypto token LLJEFFY crypto surged over 2,100%, achieving a trading market cap of approximately $104.8 million. However, LLJEFFY crypto has since plummeted, dropping by more than 90% from its nearly $105 million market cap to a mere $14.7 million.
The complete blog entry delves into Jeffy’s challenges with how trading can diminish art, his disdain for money, and discusses how online fame contributed to the collapse of his personal life.
“Once I gained some wealth and notoriety online, everything substantial unraveled—friends, family, romantic relationships, co-founders,” the post states. “Nothing was straightforward anymore; everyone had ulterior motives.”
Yu co-established the ZEREBRO initiative with Tint Blorm. It is an AI agent that garnered attention thanks to its emo trap rap endeavors and dry humor on social media.
ZEREBRO initially soared, reaching a market cap of $784 million in January 2025. However, since then, its value has dropped by 95% to $36 million as enthusiasm in the AI crypto sector has waned.
Confidential Letter From Jeffy To An Early ZEREBRO Crypto holder Claims Yu Is Still Alive
The developer of Zerebro faked his own death.
Mortuary sites. Obituaries. Tribute messages.
The entire community mourned.
But now, evidence has emerged: he’s alive.

A late-night thread on X by notable crypto holder Daniele Sesta turned the narrative completely around. He asserted that Yu had faked his suicide while presenting evidence.
This evidence included a letter reportedly sent by Yu to an early crypto holder in ZEREBRO, who was unaware that Jeffy had completed a round trip on his entire ZEREBRO investment.
In the letter, Jeffy claimed, “I made a video where I portray myself shooting myself. This video has circulated widely on X and in numerous crypto communities. My intent in creating and disseminating this video was purposeful. From my viewpoint, it was my only obtainable exit amidst ongoing harassment, blackmail, and threats.”
The letter further stated that after having his home addresses exposed, Yu had become apprehensive for his safety. His phone number and home address were often publicized by disgruntled ZEREBRO traders.
Yu informed the ZEREBRO trader that he chose to fake his own death to prevent a public withdrawal, as he believed that the ZEREBRO and OPAIUM tokens linked to him would severely drop, leading to what he suspected would be even greater ‘intense targeting’.
Other significant points from the letter included Yu expressing his intention to pursue music anonymously and affirming that he is both physically and mentally well, not seeking any help.
A crypto wallet probably associated with Jeffy Yu sold 35.55M $ZEREBRO for 8,572 $SOL($1.27M) approximately 50 minutes ago.
Then transmitted 7,100 $SOL($1.06M) to $LLJEFFY’s developer crypto wallet “G5sjgj”.https://t.co/wXOcTwJqHk pic.twitter.com/CpNVomAtCb

Supporting the credibility of Daniele Sesta’s letter from Jeffy, on-chain activity has been tracked involving a wallet linked to Yu. An on-chain analytics firm revealed that around 3:45 am CET on May 7, a crypto wallet tied to Yu liquidated $1.27 million worth of ZEREBRO and subsequently transferred $1.06 million in SOL to the LLJEFFY developer digital wallet.
The transaction to the LLJEFFY wallet has been used to buy back its own token, attempting to inflate the price. However, this strategy has not successfully remedied the price of LLJEFFY crypto, which remains down over 95% from the previous day’s highs as investors continue to sell off the ‘Legacoin’ now that Yu is reportedly alive.
At this moment, Jeffy Yu has not publicly re-emerged to clarify the matter, nor has any official confirmation of his death been provided by authorities. Many within the community are now labeling Yu as just another elaborate crypto scammer with a more sophisticated exit scheme than typical.
